Description
A traditional styled 20ft open day boat, inspired by Edwardian Pilot cutters 1890's.
The Albert and Florence was built as a "one off", she carries a Traditional Gaff rig with small fixed bowsprit. In her present ownership she has been bought a 5hp Mercury four stroke long shaft outboard engine and a new 2019, Indespension Road Trailer, which she sits on very comfortably.
2016-18 she under went an extensive refit.
Vessel has spent the summers on a swinging mooring on the River Alde in Suffolk.
Dry stored at home for the Winter.
Reputed to have been built by a retired shipwright from James & Stone Shipyard, Brightlingsea, Essex. Her design having been inspired by the lines of the Colne Revenue Pilot Cutters.
A steady, open day boat with a good turn of speed for keeping up with the East Coast Fishing Smacks.

Accommodation
Construction
An open hull, 1" Mahogany strip planked construction. Coated in epoxy resin inside and out, with a painted finish. Epoxy sheathed keel to waterline.
Her quarter decks are also sheathed and painted. The hull was refitted and fared, 2016.
Varnished wooden thwarts and bench seating.
Oak Samson post replaced in 2016.
The two part rudder has had stainless steel strengthening bands added to it.
Recently the base of the mast has also been repaired, 2021.
An iron plate centreboard.
All up weight 1.25tons which includes the 600lbs of lead ingot trimming ballast, contained within a purpose built tray.
